When research results are to be turned into market-ready products and services, we naturally need an intensive transfer of information.
This is precisely why the “Business meets Science” format was launched 17 years ago. The date has become a fixture in many calendars: the second Thursday of the year is firmly reserved to welcome the new year and immediately focus on the important collaborations between these different worlds of work.
On January 9, 2025, entrepreneurs from a wide range of industries, employees from Saxon universities and other research institutions and multipliers from business associations, business development agencies and administrative units met. The input was provided by Prof. Niels Modler, who reported on the CircEcon project. He enthusiastically explained the vision of a large laboratory factory in which research will be carried out on topics relating to the circular economy.
As part of the supporting event, the EdgeVision project was presented at one of the information tables. In addition to the development of high-performance, energy-saving hardware components for an EdgeAI platform, the alliance aims to make these technical research results available to regional companies. So that products can be optimized or newly developed. At WtW, ideas were developed with potential customers on how this edge AI platform can be used in logistics processes.
